Horse Rider Arrested for DUI in Merced, California

 In Merced, California, a horse rider found themselves in legal trouble after being apprehended for riding under the influence.


The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that their officers observed an individual taking a leisurely ride with Seabiscuit, accompanied by an open container of alcohol. Upon engaging in a conversation with the rider, it became evident that they were intoxicated. Subsequently, the rider was arrested for DUI.


The CHP emphasizes the importance of not riding or driving under the influence. They underline that, in accordance with California Vehicle Code 21050, the rules of the road also apply to individuals operating animals on the highway.
